Mama's strawberry rhubarb pie
Filling
a basket of fresh strawberries quartered
5 stalks of rhubarb, peeled and diced
1 cup shugga
1 tbsp cinnamon
2 tbsp corn starch
Crust
2 sticks of cold butta
3 1/3 cups of flour
1 tsp salt
ice water to pull it together
directions
In a mixer or bowl combine flour and salt. With the mixing bowl at low speed, cut pea size pieces of butter into the flour mixture until the butter crumbles and is coated in flour. The mixture should be loose and flaky. slowly add in water a little at a time until the dough begins to pull together. kneed into a ball and place in the fridge.
combine the chopped rhubarb and strawberries in a large bowl, add the remaining ingredients and mix together. Roll out the dough and place in pie dish. Pour in berry mixture and top with remaining pie crust. Pinch the edges , add a steam hole and bake for 45 minutes at 375*
